This morning one of my co-workers was telling me about just this. I hadn't heard of it before. In fact I didn't know there were people out there that didn't use shampoo when they showered. I figured if they didn't use shampoo they were using some sort of soap but no – they really don't use any sort of cleaning agent to wash there hair, they just rinse with water.

I could see how this would be good for your hair and I could see how this could be very Eco-friendly. Your not dumping toxic shampoo/soap down the drain, your not buying shampoo which ends up being less plastic thrown away and your spending less money.

As for your hair this is an excellent way to get your hair back to its beautiful self, it gets the oils to where they are supposed to be, making your hair very shiny and supple. Its much like using chap stick on your lips, your lips get used to it and need it but if you go off chap stick, after about a couple weeks your lips will get back to their supple self, but you go through an extreme drying period in the process. Or lotion, when you use lotion every day, same effects, you stop using it and after a period of two weeks or so your body will regulate itself and not need it anymore.

Here is an article from The Phoenix Network; The No-'Poo Do. Instructables also has a How to Go No Poo. Check it out and see what you think.

With having had it colored over and over and using hot irons on it, I have seen a huge decline in the look and feel of my once beautiful long hair. It was disturbing the first time I had to cut off a few inches because of split ends. As I look into why hair reacts this way and ways to help it, I found that one main reason for me is because I am anemic(low in iron). So I went to the health food store to find the best absorbing, all natural, organic vitamins. I also have given up coloring my hair or using hot irons on it for the time being. Hopefully forever, but with curly, out of control hair, we will see. Another thing I found was if I am stressed my body shows it, so I found a something for that too.

I have been struggling with some minor beauty issues, mainly my hair.

These are the two different supplements I have started taking.

Floradix Iron & Herbs - Easy to digest liquid solution, because Floradix is a liquid solution and does not need to dissolve, 98% of the iron is available for quick potential absorption. Floradix was found in a recent study to be faster and more effective at bringing iron stores back to normal than iron from food. Highly absorbable iron compounds, Floradix boasts the highest possible iron absorption rate: up to 25% is absorbed for potential utilization. Due to the high absorption rate of Floradix, very little unabsorbed iron enters into the intestinal tract and therefore constipation is unlikely to occur. Ideal for vegetarians, vegans and is certified kosher, with no harmful additives.

I have been using this for about 3 weeks and haven't noticed much as of yet. One thing I can say is I have not had any of the side effects usually associated with iron supplements.

Barlean's The Essential Woman – The Essential Woman is derived from seeds of botanical flowers such as evening primrose and flax, as well as special plant phytonutirents, all recognized for their beautifying and balancing qualities. The Essential Woman is the first product of it's kind to combine a full compliment of therapeutically beneficial nutrients targeted for the special and changing needs of a woman.

I have been using this for 1 week and have not noticed anything significant yet. I will continue to take it and see what it does. I have read many reviews and it seems that it takes at least a couple weeks to notice any difference.

My question to you: Have you used either of these products? What do you think of them? I would love to know more about these products and if they really work.

I have fallen in love with my latest all natural beauty products and want to share them. Not only do they all work effectively, but in addition they are all natural and I feel like I am pampering myself when I use them. These are my top five:

#5 “Mango Satin Soap for Hands and Face” by JASON.
WHY: I use this soap as a body wash, it has a fruity smell that is not overpowering and it is a great moisturizer.

#4 “Apple and Green Tea Clarifying Conditioner” by JASON.
WHY: My hair feels genuinely clean and soft.

#3 “Professional Lacquer” by Zoya.
WHY: This product is the exception to the list because it is not organic but it is free of formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate and camphor, all harmful chemicals usually found in nail polish. Try the color "Jacy."

#2 “Brilliance Vanishing Wrinkle Lotion” by zia. WHY: I am good taking care of my face with this lotion because it repairs wrinkles and protects my skin with SPF 15.

#1 (I would not want to live without!) “Apricot Scrubble,”
WHY: It is an intense exfoliating face wash by JASON. I don’t do the whole gentle cleanse thing on my face.

Not all of my beauty products are organic, but hopefully soon they will be. My goal is to replace all of the unnatural products with organic ones. I think it is important to use products, especially on your face and body that aren’t a threat to your health. All of these products and brands can be ordered online, very convenient!

We are most familiar with Olive Oil in cooking but did you know that the properties in Olive Oil make it great for your hair and skin too. I was amazed at all the uses I found for Olive Oil and how environmentally friendly it is compared to the chemicals usually used for the same purpose.

In an article by Jean Fisher from WhatsForDinner.net they shared about the benefits of Olive Oil.

Substituting olive oil, a monounsaturated fat, for saturated fats or polyunsaturated fats can:

* Reduce blood pressure
* Inhibit the growth of some cancers
* Benefit people at risk for or with diabetes
* Lessen the severity of asthma and arthritis

Non-cooking Olive Oil uses:

1.) Hot Oil Treatment: Made from Olive Oil, Honey, and Rosemary or Tea Tree Oil, heated and massaged into hair.
2.) Massage Oil
3.) Eye Makeup Remover
4.) Shaving Cream
5.) Fingernail cuticle oil
6.) Apply to lips to relieve chapped lips.
7.) Remove Paint from your skin: Rub olive oil onto the areas you have paint and allow to soak in for 5 minutes, then rinse with soap and water.
8.) Moisturizer: Rub olive oil daily to your dry areas, such as elbows, knees and feet.
9.) Exfoliator: Rub your skin with olive oil, then scrub with sugar or coarse salt, and rinse.
10.) Diaper Rash Ointment: Gently wipe olive oil onto your babys bum to help sooth.
11.) Bath: Add a few drops of olive oil and a few drops of your favorite essential oil to moisturize your skin.
12.) Lice: Apply olive oil to your hair and leave on for 40 minutes then shampoo two times.
13.) Cure an Earache: Use a cotton swab to apply olive oil to the outide of the ear cavity to help aid in earaches or earwax.
14.) Help for Frizzy Hair: Put a small drop of olive oil into your hand and rub your hands together and apply to dry hair.
15.) Stop Snoring: Take a sip of Olive Oil before heading to bed. It might lubricate your throat muscles, and stop the snoring.

Some of these ideas were found at Curbly.com, 25 Alternative Uses for Olive Oil. Some of the others were found at GreenLivingTips.com, Non-food uses for olive oil.
